Artist Profile: Music Artist: Deane Prouty
Deane Prouty, Percussionist at Radio City Music Hall and for more than 20 Broadway shows, has performed with Melissa Manchester, Bernadette Peters, Tony Bennett, Theodore Bikel, and Robert Goulet, and has recorded for CBS Records, Sony Classical, and New World Records. He is the Percussionist on the Grammy Award winning recording of “GYPSY” with Bernadette Peters.
He plays with Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society, The American Symphony orchestra, Amor Artis, Dance Theater of Harlem, and The American Composers Orchestra, and is one of only a handful of musicians worldwide who perform on Deagan Novelty instruments, including the Organ Chimes (Shaker Chimes), Marimbaphone, Aluminum Harp, Una-Fon, and Tuned Sleighbells.
